Nature Resonance is founded by Lucy Martin and Lily Martin, 4th generation Pacific Northwest sisters with over 2 decades of diverse nursing and teaching experience. Well versed in burnout, evidence-based practice, and nature therapy, they are committed to improving quality of life, utilizing their backgrounds in public health, professional development, quality improvement, adult learning theory, positive psychology, and social emotional learning. While there is no known solution to burnout, for years they have researched and practiced strategies to manage the seemingly unavoidable chronic stress that burdens their industries. Lucy and Lily are testaments of the healing power of nature, rest, community, play and neuroplasticity. Their chosen fields and experience in event planning, hosting, and traveling equip them to tackle the problem of burnout through innovative solutions, such as nature retreats and community building.
Lucy enjoys exploring the world and the great outdoors, especially the mountains. She is a mountain biker, backpacker, snowboarder, kayaker, gardener, and dabbler in herbalism, art, and music. She and her husband Chris raise chickens on their urban farm in Seattle with their little monster Battle Cat. She is a believer in positive psychology and permaculture. Lucy has a bachelor's in nursing from the University of Washington and has worked as a registered nurse since 2008 at an academic medical center. She will graduate with a Masters in Science of Entrepreneurship from the University of Washington Foster School of Business in June 2022.
Lily enjoys hiking, beachcombing, backpacking, and camping whenever possible in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. As a Professional Development Coach, she provides continuing education through instructional mentoring and workshops in the public school district where she has worked since 2013. She is a National-Board Certified Teacher, holds a Masters in Teaching from the University of Washington, endorsements in Elementary Education, English Language Learners, Special Education and a residency certificate in Environment, Education and Community through IslandWood. Lily also teaches in an ELL endorsement program for Seattle University and is currently completing a certified yoga teacher and social-emotional learning facilitator training program.
